Dow - Sendero
Brief
Dow had a new product that helps deal with overgrowth of Mesquite in open range areas. Bader Rutter contacted us to see if we could make antlers in a landscape of mesquite. Of course we could so we quickly explained how to do it and the job got the go-ahead.
Creative Solution
We started by researching these landscapes and getting to know mesquite trees. We made about 10 different 3D hero trees and various versions without leaves, dead or dying trees.
After sourcing some satellite imagery and DEM data for height we played with that to start sculpting a handmade landscape that included a range, river and distant mountains. We scattered millions or rocks, boulders, dead branches and small plants. On top of that came the hero mesquite trees.
After rendering we did the post work to give a sunset feeling to the images and make sure we were reading the antler path shapes in the landscape. Lastly we integrated some 3D rendered clouds and atmospheric haze.
Another happy ending and successful result from the team at Pixteur Studios.
