Brief

This was an in-house studio project to test out some new workflows and techniques. 

R & D

We worked as beta testers for the latest release of Gaea, a cgi landscape tool. We used this to do the R&D for the landscapes and create the look of the scene. The software generated base textures for the landscapes which we augmented in the layout software. Mother Earth was sculpted in zbrush and partially eroded in Gaea. We used Blender to scatter our nature assets. And we topped it all off with a whole lot of custom VDB explosions and volumetric haze.
