Brief

Our friends at Alice Blue teamed up with pixteur to produce this global animation and print campaign for Boeing.

Creative Solution

Pixteur built out the CGI environments: Earth, cloudscape, oceanscape, a view over the farmfields of the midwest as well as a futuristic LA and an airport of the future.

We leveraged multiple workflows to create the environments using real world DEM data. We also used Terragen to create immersive 360° cloud environment backplates as well as export matching vdb clouds for use close up to our aircraft in the animation software. Check out the lookdev images below.

Great modeling isn’t enough… We pick the ideal render engine for each project to get the optimal look.

On this project we leveraged Vray as the go to engine to light and render the night city scene with over 10,000 CGI lights.

Each and every lit window included a special dynamically textured fake room that changed angles as the camera moved for perfect parallax, high detail and a slick workflow.

We use the latest ACES OCIO color workflows and view transforms to preserve color all the way through the process. This results in clean, bright & powerful color and we sidestep the “looks CGI” effect. Our tools give us artistic tone mapping that doesn’t destroy data, clip white highlights or dim bright lights.

ACES OCIO color workflows carry through all the way to our post workflow where we keep all that juicy 32bit data right up until the end of the process.
