With our good friends over at DDB we worked together to create an ad campaign for their client AX. The concept was to depict the pink panther in white.
We worked along with MGM studios to produce the panther in 3D, up till now it’s only been flat 2D. Working from photos of an artists clay sculpt of the panther we 3D modeled the base shape in MODO, rigged and posed in Maya and sent everything back to MODO for rendering. We were after a Pixar look, complete with the edge highlights and flat areas of color.
After rendering it was just a matter of a bit of post prod and grading to finish these off.
